Three Muses Challenge - Architecture

Gayle suggested architecture as the theme for the Three Muses challenge this week. Thanks Gayle I had great fun with this one.

I used an image of a keyboard by Lusi at Stockxchnge for my architectural designs and together with a few bits and pieces by Irene Alexeeva this is what I finally came up with.

Woohoo my first challenge piece in ages. This little holiday postcard is winging its way to you with good wishes from New Zealand for Bev's great challenge theme of Postage Art at the Three Muses.

Taluula's Travels Around New Zealand

Ah ah, I didn't realise I'd actually managed to post the last time so I've started again.......

On a snow laden sub zero morning in mid January in the UK, Taluula, hubby Mr T and Taluula’s old Mum Joan, set off for a little adventure 12,000 miles away in New Zealand.

Joan destined for a few weeks stay with one of her other favourite daughters in Wellington, whilst Taluula and Mr T gad off in a teeny weeny little campervan, to tour first the South Island and later the North.

Starting in Christchurch our route, with more Oooohs, Aaahs and Oh Wows than Taluula could count, will end in Picton where we’ll board the ferry to the North.

Our travels around the South Island have taken us through such diverse and wondrous scenery : vast and magnificent mountain ranges, teeming rain forests, beautiful blue lakes, majestic glaciers, powerful waterfalls, sparkling clear glacial rivers and vast expanses of deserted white sand beaches. Aaaah!

And of course, along the way Miss Taluula has made a photographic record to share with you. So without further ado and in no particular order, for your delight and delectation, or for something to do whilst you drink your coffee here are a few to be going along with.

These are Lake Wanaka (I would live there). The Roaring Swine waterfall. Franz Josep Glacier (the second picture, if you look very closely has a group of people near to the entrance to the cave mouth - shows the scale of the Glacier). Lake Te Anau in the late afternoon.

Having A Lovely Time - Wish You Were Here!

Hi All ..... It's Me .... and I'm having a wonderful time on my travels around New Zealand and when I get the occasional decent internet connection I'll try to update my blog.

So this was the beginning of our journey from Manchester Airport in the early hours of a snow filled January day.

This is me with Mum who who we took to stay with my little sister in Wellington whilst we travelled around in a campervan.

Three Muses Challenge 33 - Water

It's Bev's turn this week to host the Three Muses challenge and she has chosen the theme of WATER.

There is no doubt I could have taken many directions in using WATER in my piece, but Marcel Marceau wanted to get in on the act, and so my water turned into rain and poor old Marcel was left on the outside looking in. Mmmmmm.

This week Marie is our host at the Three Muses and she has chosen the theme of Angels.

I seem to be drawn to these pale, sparse landscapes at the moment and when I found this crouching angel on the internet the whole thing just came together.

Happy New Year - 2010

When I was about to retire my work colleagues asked me what I was going to do with all my time.

Mmmmmm. I couldn't believe they thought I might get bored.

They urged me to make sure I kept active both in mind and body.

Mmmmm. What did they mean, did they think I would leave work and enter my dotage?

They worried for me and kept asking me how I would fill my time.

Well, I shall do what ever takes my fancy I replied, make art, become a digital artist, and create a blog for starters.

They were worried for me. I could tell.

Then I left work and entered the LAND OF BLOG and made lots of art and found heaps and heaps of new cyber friends and my life was changed forever.

This is my way of saying thank you for creating blogs where I can come and visit, also for your friendship and for your heartwarming comments on my blog too.

May I wish you the happiest, healthiest, most creative and artfilled new year ever.

Three Muses Challenge 31 - Something Old, Something New

It's my turn to host the Three Muses challenge and this week I have chosen the theme of SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW.

This theme could have taken many turns, and I was tempted to create some steam punk, and then I thought about the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue connected to the gifts given to a bride on her wedding day, but in the end I went for a more comic theme.

Meet Harold, a gentleman of a certain age, who has a liking for wearing ladies footwear. Also meet Doris and Daisy, who like nothing better than a good old gossip, and here they are seated on their luggage waiting for transport to their New Year's holiday whilst discussing Harold's outlanding footwear.

Digital Art Quirks - Artist's Studio Challenge

December ATC - Tis The Season

I host the monthly ATC challenge across at Digital Art Quirks and this month I chose Happy Holiday as the theme.

I chose Charles Dicken's Christmas Carol (and now a new film) for my take on the theme.

This will be our second DIGITAL ATC swap, though from January we will alternate between a 'mailed' card and an 'emailed' card on a monthly basis.

Three Muses Challenge 28 - Bottles and Jars

This week Bev is hosting the Three Muses challenge and the theme she's chosen is BOTTLES and JARS.

I wanted my bottles and jars to be part of a landscape or a landscape within a landscape and so that is how this evolved : three separate landscapes inexorably linked to tell a story, which is of course, message in a bottle!

Three Muses Challenge 27 - Fun and Games

It's my turn to host the Three Muses challenge this week and I chose FUN AND GAMES as my theme.

Games, made me think of Chess, and so I populated my chessboard with not only chess pieces but also all manner of strange and outlandish images to create a surreal landscape, before allowing the chessboard to slowly slide into the sea. Great fun.
