Theme Thursday

The theme this week is the Sun.

Leonardo Divinci came to mind, so he became the sun, usually the centre of all things, but as most women know not if a pair of shoes are involved.

Maggie's Monday Musings Challenge

Maggie's latest ATC challenge is to do a layout containing Bling.

It made me think of Elton John when he dressed up for his 50th Birthday. So here we are .

Credit to Simka for the backgrounds and sparkles (all altered).
Elton was Googled.

Arty Girlz Challenge

It's not always easy to find the exact colours you want to use on a layout and that's when a little bit of blending comes in very useful.

I used the paint bucket to make a soft blue background layer and stamped the 1920s ladies first in orange, then white and then brown, before a final stamp in orange to give them depth and to get a subdued shade. I did a similar thing with the star and star burst brushes.

The frame was gold but by duplicating the image using the Exclusion layer blend I made it blue. Likewise the wording was pink, but by adding a second layer and the Colour Burn layer blend, I managed a passable orange.

This was created for this week's Blue and Orange challenge across at Arty Girlz Challenge Blog.

Credit to JulieO for the frame and words, and 500ml and Seishido for the brushes.

Scrap Artist Challenge - Altered Sunglasses

Showing a reflection in sunglasses was the altered art challenge across at Scrap Artist.

Credit to DSP Members Collab of Ghosts and Goblins, Adventures in Scrapland, GraphicJam by Yasmin and Stockxchnge's Dmiel for elements.

Mixed Media Monday Challenge

Created for the Mixed Media Monday challenge of Things That Go Bump In The Night.

Starting with a green background, I added brushes by Michelle Coleman. Duplicated, recoloured and rotated the background to give some depth. Duplicated and recoloured again to form a table background for the elements.

I added elements from Adventures in Scrapland's Bewitched kit, and duplicated each element then used various layer blends to create the right effect.

Thank you for looking.

Quirkle 59 - Jump For Joy

The Quirkle challenge over at DAQ this week was hosted by Kim who asked us to use Joy, Light and Flowers to inspire our quirkle page.

When I thought of Joy I kept visualizing someone jumping for joy, and when I thought of light, a light bulb came to mind and here's what happened.

Mona Goes to Paris

I spotted Mona Lisa in Paris yesterday, there she was sitting at a cafe table just watching the world go by. I didn't have my camera with me to record the incident so I made this ATC instead.

Mona Swings By

I created this for Mamma's Monday Musings ATC challenge across at Flickr. The challenge was to create a vintage tag whilst keeping to the ATC size of 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

Come Saturday when all the tags have been submitted Margaret (Mamma) will pair each of us with a fellow contributor and early next week the ATC will be swapped with our partner.

Movie Time

Over at Digital Art Quirks there's another challenge I like to do called the Stock Photo challenge. Each week a member of the group chooses a photo from Stockxchnge. The challenge is then to use the stock photo in an imaginative way to create a digital page.

In this page it was the clock we used for inspiration. I'd just learned how to blend layers so I had lots of fun creating this.

Quirkle 57 - Friends

I subscribe to a Digital Art website called Digital Art Quirks where the emphasis is more on creating fun and quirky art rather than creating traditional scrapbook layouts.

We have regular weekly challenges and one of them is a Quirkle. Each week one of the members hosts the challenge and chooses three elements that should be used to create the quirkle.

For Quirkle 57 the elements were to choose and use a word and it's definition, add a touch of gold and a crown.

Here's mine called Friendship. I forgot to add a crown but my friends at DAQ were too polite to mention it when they gave me feedback. Ooops.

Credit to NumBum for the backgrounds (altered and blended), BlueGum for the hands (altered), and As His for the children (also altered). Font : WhatsHappened.

Time Slips By - A Moo

So here's another one, both this and the one below were made for a challenge, and using a clock had to be part of the art.

Credit to Madam Mim and to Stockxchnge for elements used here.

Witching Hour - A Moo

I've recently been introduced to the Moo, a piece of artwork measuring 1.1 x 2.8 inches.

This is my first Moo so as it's October I gave it a Halloween theme.
