TAKE A WORD

SIGNS OF AUTUMN

This week we have AUTUMN as our word for inspiration at Take a Word.  Here in the British Isles, as in other temperate climates, and a long time before leaves begin to change colour and fall from the trees, there is a small but significant 'shift' in the weather;  a chill in the air,  heavy morning dew drenching the grass and coating the spiderwebs, a tiny 'shift' from summer to autumn and it's happening right now!  Cameras at the ready people.  :D

Every single element of this piece was found on the interwebby; part of a free wallpaper used for the background, the leaf and the spiderweb much altered from their original state, and the spider was a piece of free clipart.

Thank you for looking.

A beautiful job of cybersurfing, Ann. I love your description of the coming of autumn. The tree outside my window is dropping a leaf now and then, and I note a tinge of color here and there in the forest near us. Summer seemed all too short, and I hope autumn is LONG! When I think of dew on the spider webs, for some reason I think of my grandmother's home, and the dew on the huge web on the morning glory that climbed her clothes line post. It must have made a great impression on me as a child. I hold the memory still. Thank you for jogging my memory to revisit it!!

What a beautiful and very apropos collage for autumn. The spiders definitely seem to make themselves a lot more known. Unfortunately, I haven't met a spider yet that I liked.
