TAKE A WORD

CHILDHOOD is our word this week at Take a Word.  That got me thinking about childhood and when I do that for some reason it makes me think of deep or dark images, of the the real meaning behind nursery rhymes for instance, or being frightened by clowns may be.   I thought I might create a girl with her hands to her eyes (you know the one Judy) slowly counting to a hundred in a deep dark forest whilst her parents slip away.  Mmmmm ... a tad too dark do you think?   Yes, me too so in the end I went for a fairytale childhood : soft, dreamy and slightly out of focus.  :D

Credit goes to CAJoline, PlayingWithBrushes and Sailor and Lula.

Thanks for another great thought provoking word Marie.

Thanks for looking.

Very soft and dreamy Ann... such a departure from Dali and darkness?! I hear what you're saying though and thank you so much for the compliment! =)

Oh so dreamy, Ann, what a gorgeous childhood treasure! (had to get my girl out of the 'knickers & vest' & give her a new pretty dress to prepare her for the upside down tree!!) LOL

This soft, ethereal piece is a quantum leap from your usual surreal pieces, Ann. It shows another side of your talent, and it's beautiful!

You did a lot of soul searching as to how approach this week's word and you obviously made the right choice because this artpiece is superb. I love the atmosphere you evoke which is perfect for the dreams of childhood. As Bev has said before me, it shows another side of Miss Ann and her talent!! Fantastic.
