THREE MUSES 61 - ODD BIRD

Ethel and Freda were appalled by idle gossip and would never indulge in such nonesense.  So imagine  their astonishment when they realized their casual meeting and quick exchange of 'pleasantries' had lasted for more than two hours.

Bev challenged us to have some fun with ODD BIRD this week at the Muses and boy did I have fun.

Credit to Dover Samples, Efie's Blogspot and GWDesigns for the elements.  The backgrounds are my own, and the font is : Misprinted Type.

Thank you for looking.

THREE MUSES 60 - MAIL ART

Marie (aka Ozstuff) has chosen MAIL ART for her theme this Wednesday at the Three Muses and as I have been wanting to try to make a mail art envelope for a while I thought I would take this opportunity, and so here is my interpretation on the theme.

I painted a background digitally and then layered this with a texture by Paree Erica.  I made stamps from some of my previous work (already credited appropriately on my blog), added airmail markings to the edges of the envelope and a mail stamp or two.  Finally I made the buildings myself and added the lovely fantasy bird created by Terri Kahrs.   The handwriting font is Mayfield.

Thank you for looking.

THREE MUSES 59 - FLYING CARPET TRAVELS

Let me take you on a journey to Taipo in New Zealand where on February 28 this year we were caught up in an evacuation to high ground following an earthquake in Chile and a threatened Tsunami for the coast of New Zealand.  I thought the event deserved a journal page and here it is.

Mostly my own work, however the Wave clipart is courtesy of Arthur's Nature Clipart, whilst the fonts are : journaling hand, tecton pro and teen.

And here is a little look at what else we did on our holiday.

Thank you for looking.

GHOSTWORKS ALPHABET CHALLENGE

Created for the Ghostworks Alphabet challenge over at Flickr (link in sidebar).

The rules are to use at least one of SkelitalMess's textures and to use the next free letter of the alphabet.

Credit to SkelitalMess for both background textures.  The head is free to use, and the font is Stonehenge.

THREE MUSES CHALLENGE 58 - RUST

Bev has chosen RUST as her theme for this week which made me think of old machinery and I even created a collage based on a photo I took in New Zealand of a rusty and mangled old train.  But then  I found the perfect textured background by SkelitalMess and a glamorous lady from Magical Moonlight and I immediately went down a different track altogether.  Thanks Bev for making me think outside the box.

Thank you for looking.
