It's my turn to host the Three Muses challenge and this week I have chosen the theme of SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW.
This theme could have taken many turns, and I was tempted to create some steam punk, and then I thought about the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue connected to the gifts given to a bride on her wedding day, but in the end I went for a more comic theme.
Meet Harold, a gentleman of a certain age, who has a liking for wearing ladies footwear. Also meet Doris and Daisy, who like nothing better than a good old gossip, and here they are seated on their luggage waiting for transport to their New Year's holiday whilst discussing Harold's outlanding footwear.

Digital Art Quirks - Artist's Studio Challenge
Marie, aka Ozstuff, is hosting the Artist's Studio challenge at Digital Art Quirks this week and she asked us to make a journal page.
However, before I could get going Mabel took over and made her own journal page about her thoughts on Christmas.
Credit to Vanessian Vintage Designs, Elizabeth Golden and Granny Art. I created the painted background, and Mabel, as you know is part of the family.
Fonts used are : Depressionist Three, Mark, Matejino, Soft Autumn and Pushkin.

Three Muses Challenge 30 - Home
Bev is hosting the Three Muses Challenge this week and she has chosen HOME as her theme.
It's freezing cold and snowing outside, here in the UK, and so I thought a cosy warm house might be the order of the day. So here we are.
Great choice Bev.

Sunday Postcard Art - Christmas
Here is my contribution for this week's Sunday Postcard theme of CHRISTMAS.
It's also for the Crazy Amigo challenge theme of Christmas Tree.
I made the Christmas tree from some of my recent pieces of artwork. Could you tell?
It really is a postcard, though the background is white!
May I wish all my blogfriends a very Merry Christmas and an artful New Year.

Mabel's Christmas Wishes
You can't keep a good woman down, (even when there's no label on the bottle). Looks like Mabel's starting Christmas early.
So from Mabel and Taluula here's wishing you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR.

December ATC - Tis The Season
I host the monthly ATC challenge across at Digital Art Quirks and this month I chose Happy Holiday as the theme.
I chose Charles Dicken's Christmas Carol (and now a new film) for my take on the theme.
This will be our second DIGITAL ATC swap, though from January we will alternate between a 'mailed' card and an 'emailed' card on a monthly basis.
Credit to Efie, Numbumm and Irene Alexeeva. The fonts used are ClasicapsXmas2, Christmas Card and Burton's Nightmare.

Three Muses Challenge 29 - Mail Art
This week Marie has chosen the theme of Mail Art, and that made me think about whether is should be airmail, email or snail mail and I couldn't choose so I added my interpretation of them all.
Credit to Elizabeth Golden, Shelly Marie Scraps and Irene Alexeeva.
The fonts are Napapiiri, Eight Track Program, Hasty Pudding and Orator Std.
Thanks Marie for a great challenge.

Three Muses Challenge 28 - Bottles and Jars
This week Bev is hosting the Three Muses challenge and the theme she's chosen is BOTTLES and JARS.
I wanted my bottles and jars to be part of a landscape or a landscape within a landscape and so that is how this evolved : three separate landscapes inexorably linked to tell a story, which is of course, message in a bottle!
The elements are much altered are credit to TakeABreak, Farrah's Designs, CAJoline, Efie, NumbBumm, Tammara at Pixel Music, Juno (Dulcet) Terri at Pringle Hill Studio, GrannyArt and Honey Designs. Thanks all.
Thank you for a great challenge Bev.

Three Muses Challenge 27 - Fun and Games
It's my turn to host the Three Muses challenge this week and I chose FUN AND GAMES as my theme.
Games, made me think of Chess, and so I populated my chessboard with not only chess pieces but also all manner of strange and outlandish images to create a surreal landscape, before allowing the chessboard to slowly slide into the sea. Great fun.
Credit goes to Urban Fairy, CAJoline and Efie.

Three Muses Challenge 26 - Time
This week it's Marie's turn to host the challenge at the Three Muses and she has chosen TIME as her theme.
Here is what my muse chose to have me do, and I'm not sure what it means. Is it the beginning of time, or birth or rebirth? Well I don't know either but I really enjoyed creating it. So thanks Marie.
Credit also goes to Irene Alexeeva and the very generous Efie who offers daily freebies on her blog.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Chunky Book Challenge - Holidays
This is my piece for Victoria's Chunky Book - Holidays challenge.
This is called We Are Not Amused because the little doll with the Santa hat reminds me of Queen Victoria who was famous for claiming she was not amused. My holiday as you might have guessed is Christmas.
Credit to Ginger Scraps, Elizabeth Golden, Barbara Derksen, Efie, Tammara at Pixel Music, Cajoline, Pillow Girl, Irene Alexeeva and Granny Art. Phew!

This week Bev has challenged us to use a KEY in our artistic endeavours. I thought I would try a little steam punk for this theme, and where else to place the key, but the balloon!
Thanks for another inspired challenge Bev.

Digital ATC Swap - For November
FLY ME TO THE MOON is my choice of theme for the ATC swap at Digital Art Quirks this month and I thought we would try something completely different. I made the swap Digital.
The idea is to complete an ATC, both front and reverse, post a low res copy (72 dpi) in the DAQ gallery and send a high res copy (300 dpi) to me. At the end of the month I will then send out an email to each participant with a copy of each ATC received, as an attachment. Mmmmmm. Let's see how it goes!
Below is a copy of the complete ATC. You can view the credits on the Reverse side.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Three Muses Challenge 24 - In Your Dreams
This week it's my turn to host the Three Muses challenge and the theme I've chosen is IN YOUR DREAMS.
The piece I've chosen as my sample illustrates part of a poem I love for the imagery it conjures in me. (Alas I don't know the author.)
Credit goes to June at Art Freebies, Playing with Brushes and Efie at her blogspot.
However, I was in two minds this week and couldn't resist a second attempt at IN YOUR DREAMS and so for my own enjoyment, and for the surreal artist inside me, I created a little dream landscape of my own. Is someone dreaming of a nice cup of tea? Mmmmmmm.
Credit for this one goes to Rian, Bisontine, Irene Alexeeva, Granny Art, and Efie. The hand belongs to my granddaughter which I snapped whilst she was snoozing in the sunshine.
The font is Prissy Frat Boy.

Postage Stamp People
Marie (Ozstuff) hosted the DAQ challenge earlier in the week and chose Postage Stamp People as her theme.
Credit to Granny Art for the chicken, Pixel Music for the postcard, NumbBumm for the speech bubble. Mona and the crown are in the public domain. Font : Palsu
Ah and here she is again. Mona just couldn't make up her mind on the look she preferred.
DAQ October Bookmark - Remembrance
Here is bookmark No 2 for the October challenges at Digital Art Quirks. The theme for this one is Remembrance.
I chose a quote from Wilfred Owen's poem of the same name. The background image is Harry Patch who died aged 111 earlier this year but who was the last 'Tommy' to be involved in the First World War. Wilfred Owen is, of course, the foreground image (both images by Dover). The poppies, symbol of remembrance are courtesy of Granny Art blogspot.
Font is Isle of the Dead.

Three Muses Challenge 21 - Long Ago and Far Away
It's my turn to host the Three Muses Challenge this week and I have chosen Long Ago and Far Away.
Thinking of LONG AGO AND FAR AWAY I was reminded of Mabel's childhood. Her father Eustace, a very 'colourful' character went to great lengths to merge into the crowd for several hours of drinking and gambling, but Mabel's mother Gertie, a very determined lady, would grab that old shotgun, and with Daisy, Doris and Mabel in tow would search out the old rascal and show him the way home. Ah such fond memories of Sunday afternoon family entertainment.
Credit to Tammara at Pixel Music and Nicole Young for the elements used, and of course, Mabel is part of the family.
Thanks for looking.
