This week the recipe was to use : one heart, two wings, three vintage pieces, four stars and five words to make up an altered page.

Never liking to follow the main stream this is what I came up with.

Everything you see other than the font is courtesy of Tangie Baxter.

Stock Photo 67 - Fused Glass

This week Cindy hosted the stockphoto challenge at Digital Art Quirks.

I used a Photoshop shape to segment the photo, then duplicated and multiplied. I added a drop shadow to the shape and used the photo again as the background. Finally I added a glass filter to get what I hope is a fused glass effect.

Credit to Promobuild at Stockxchnge for the photo.

Quirkle 81 - A Change Is As Good As A Rest

Marie (Ozstuff) hosted the Quirkle challenge this week at Digital Art Quirks. She wanted to see some altered art with a mismatch of heads on shoulders, she also asked for a moon, and a tree made up from paper.

Meet Mabel's sisters Edna and Lily who like to show off their head changing skills, believing a change is as good as a rest.

Credit to Valerie Brincheck for the people parts (free to use) on her blog. Altered Souls for the moon, Booland Designs for the backgrounds (altered) and the dress. The tree is a standard PS shape which I've filled with a postcard from my own collection.

Artarazzi - Challenges 13 and 14

I never managed to complete last week's challenge set by Ozstuff so I've combined the lovely background she chose with the Japanese lady chosen for this week's challenge by Vron.

The Japanese lady appears to be part of a fresco that's peeling away from the wall. Well that's what it's meant to be!

Credit to Art e Zines for the lady.

Gothic Arch - Mother and Child

The theme this week is mother and child at Gothic Arches.

I was inspired by the Gustav Klimt picture Three Ages of Woman.

I extracted and duplicated the mother and child from Klimt's Three Ages of Woman and used an Overlay blend to brighten the image. I created the Arch background with brushes by Graphicxtras and Vanilla Dreams which I then duplicated and blended again to achieve a pleasing colour. I added the background which is courtesy of Booland Designs. Finally I added a Poster Edges filter to give definition to the lines of the mother and child.

Sunday Postcard Art - Words of Wisdom

I chose a quote by Sir Winston Churchill for my words of wisdom for this week's challenge theme.

The quote is : An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last.

I've interpreted it in a humourous way though I think the quote has a much deeper darker meaning.

Credit to Kubivet for the blended backgrounds, J2M for the text path, the crocs and croc sign were Googled.
