Our theme at the Three Muses this week is to embellish a black and white (or sepia) photograph with colour. Apologies, because as some of you will recognise, this is a 'variation on a theme'. Mmmmm.
Below is one I made earlier but which I thought was worth a second viewing.
Credit to HolliewoodStudio and the PublicDomain for the 'variation on a theme', whilst 'my family history' are my own images with lyrics from Queen.
Thank you for looking.

Wow! What a celebration of colour to frame the lovely vintage image! It's scrumptious. I love the second pic too, Ann. The words are touching and the ghostly figures set me thinking of my own family members who are no longer here. A lovely, sensitive piece of art.
Both are fabulous! Can't stop looking at them.
The first picture in colour is fantastic Ann but I really love your second 'family' piece. Haunting memories! xx
The first one is very festive and the other so cleverly done. Wonderful artworks,Ann.
I love the first with the vintage children stepping into modern setting. The second is very creative, and I love the accompanying text! Lovely work, Ann.
The change from dark to light gives your top picture a whole different feel...still lovely though. Your bottom picture is so touching and a layering masterpiece.
Hey Ann this is wonderful!I'm speechless, my friend!Love both pieces!
Wouaouh Ann, you took my breath away once more!
The first one is a powerful masterpiece in my eyes.
The second one is touching and so well done.
You are such a talented lady...
I like both Ann! But I must say, at first glance, the first one looked like the twins from The Shining. I got the creeps, then realized it wasn't them. Phew! :-)
Very creative, Ann and I really love the colors you used and the mirrored images!

They are both beautiful, I love the second one - it has more emotion. / Ritva
both are wonderful artworks... i like the velvet curtains in luscious colors and the repeating kids (a bit eerie...), and i can´t stop my eyes wandering when looking at the second one... very thoughtful!
Dare to be different, thats what I say, Ann, you certainly pulled it off with the first one, applause from a hot NZ!
Do I spy a wee 'Yorkshire Lass' front row on the left? A lovely family treasure
Wow Ann I love both of your collages, lovely girls surrounded of drape curtains, I have the feeling that they continue again and again, also love the words on the second one and how you blend the photo of a familie and
bathing children.
