It's Bev's turn to host at the Three Muses this week and she has chosen ORIENTAL as her theme and here is my interpretation. The ladies don't look very happy do they..... I wonder why?
Great choice of theme, Bev.

Thanks for looking.
It's been a while since I stopped by . . . . what an inspiration of creativity you are, Ann! I DO love your interpretation of Maggie's work. Frankly, I like your pieces better than hers!!!! And the girls with their flying parasols are terrific.
ReplyDeleteWhich brings me to THIS piece! So different from the others!!! And so wonderful in it's own right. These beautiful girls look like they've just stepped out of one of my favorite books, "My Life as a Geisha". Hugs, Terri xoxo
The background is perfect for these ladies. Well done
ReplyDeleteperfeita escolha para o tema!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful faces on your wonderful background Ann...the geisha with the umbrella is fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I enlarged your image to see the background in a closer view. Clever layered effects !!
ReplyDeleteAnd why they look so sad ? Perhaps the bottle with sake was empty :)
Love your new blog look Ann. Your piece is stunning with the layered background and the bright colors. Awesome work....as always!!
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteI think they're a bit miffed because someone used up all the pearl dust powder, probably the geisha down the hall!
I love your art T!
Beautiful!!!

Beautiful piece, Ann. I love the dainty background and the wonderful oriental ladies. An exquisite piece of art.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous artwork! Beautifully created.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous background for your beautiful Oriental ladies, Ann. I always enjoy seeing you stray a bit from the surreal things you do so well, and find that you do everything else so well too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Ann. I agree that the lovely ladies seem sad for some reason.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful, serene piece, Ann!!
ReplyDeleteThank You for your lovely welcome to the challenge, and for the amazing inspiration. You are all so very talented. I'm incredibly excited to be delving more into digital art. Thanks again for the opportunity.

fantastic Ann!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful background for your lovely Geishas Ann. Wonderful piece.xx
ReplyDeleteNo they don't... but their bandaged feet could be causing them discomfort? See, this is what happens when you fall - foot obsession, lol!
ReplyDeleteYour background is really beautiful Ann! =)
Wonderful Asian art, Ann! I think there was a cold draft in the photographer's studio that day!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Please do tell me who the artist is who painted the man on the right of your banner.
ReplyDeleteI hope being in your wonderful background cheers them up! It's fabulous, Ann.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it'd be the split toed socks and those cute little clog-like sandals LOL My feet just won't conform to that sort of thing--so of course, I wouldn't smile either!
ReplyDeleteBut as I recall, actually, as a culture, the Japanese woman then (as now?) tried to hide her smile with a hand, a sleeve, a fan. That could be why.
Great work! LOVE the background you've chosen!
