TAKE A WORD - FLIGHT

It's my turn to host at Take A Word this week and my word for inspiration is FLIGHT.

That reminded me of the time four friends set off on a Sunday afternoon walk, dressed in their very best finery,  each sporting a very nice parasol, when all of a sudden along came a very cheeky little (well quite big) gust of wind and their afternoon walk turned into a very interesting flight.

Mmmmmmmm!

Credit and thank you Finecrafted Design at DeviantScrap  and to Longstock at Deviant Art.

Thanks for looking.

  1. What a lovely fantasy, Ann! I used to have flying dreams (haven't had one for a long while) in which I just lifted and floated above the world below, then settled gently back on my feet at the end of my flight. I loved those dreams. This beautiful piece made me think of them. Thanks!

  2. I am ashamed to say that I watch a trashy TV show called "Fashion Police" hosted by Joan Rivers. One of the segments is "Bitch stole my look" where famous people are caught out wearing the same dresses. When I saw your beautiful, refined ladies in similar dresses I couldn't help connecting them with the show. Of course, that's where the similarity ends. Your ladies in flight are exquisite, Ann. I love everything about this one. Thanks so much for giving us such an inspiration "sample" this week.

  3. Oh, my! They do look surprised! And your juxtaposing the dresses all in white with a field of sunflowers was genius. Your sky is like a dream of a summer afternoon's drowsing.
    Lovely, lovely.

  13. This is so delightful and such fun, Ann. It also makes me long for the summer weather to return - I don't mind if there's a slight breeze....

(Would hate your coffee to end up on the keyboard of your brand new iMac, Ann, I'm very envious, did you get a 27 inch one? I'm aiming at one later in the year after new Lion OS has been run in!)
