RAIN STOPPED PLAY
Every year here in the UK we get all geared up for Summer ... and then it rains. And rains and rains some more!
We did enjoy high temperatures and sunshine for months on end in 2006. We got our hopes up.
Then last year we had a fantastic Summer, sunny and hot from April to October followed by a warm Winter. Oh wow, perhaps this was the Atlantic tide turning.
This year we hoped .. but the temperatures are diabolical and it's raining. It's the gulf stream apparently ... and this year it's also el nino.
Still, mustn't grumble!
Hee hee .... no wonder we Brits jet off to warmer climes.
Credit to SharingTubes whilst the backgrounds and rain textures are my own.
Thank you for looking.
A beautiful scene Ann- and the weather has been off for so many. We are in a serious drought here in California. Hope things balance out soon!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, poor you, Ann, at least your little fishes look happy! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, it would be marvelous to swap our weather few days hmmm?
No, you don't want: it's 3 weeks and a half now, that it's 35°day and 32-33° night...
The are storms all around, but not here, just the wishes (as you! :)
Your textures give the exact feeling of humidity and rainy days, bravo indeed!
Beautiful work, Ann. It seems everyone I know is having lots of rain except our friends in California who, as Lori says, are in the midst of a dreadful drought. I wish we could end them some of these downpours!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to add that this challenge is SUPER!! Thank you Ann! :)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all great picture love the layers and your rain is fabulous...and now to the weather for the last five years or so it seems like the weather has just gone bonkers everywhere including here, a high mountain desert, where we just finish the hottest June on record followed by the coolest wettest July...go figure.
ReplyDeleteYou UK dwellers do tend to enjoy places such as Italy and Greece, don't you? Perhaps this is how come E.M. Forster's books were written to begin with?
ReplyDelete"Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun"
Perhaps they lack it at home too much to resist its charm?
I really love the TEXTURE you've added to this one, Taluula. It was a brilliant choice!
Pretty weather, rain or not!!!
ReplyDeletepoor children, but they will quickly find a new water-game!
