THE THREE MUSES

KIRKSTALL ABBEY

This week we have WINDOWS and DOORS as our theme for inspiration at the Three Muses.

This is one of my own photos taken during a recent visit to the 11th century Abbey at Kirkstall, a mere stone's throw from home.  Marvel at those vaulted archways, magnificent pillars and see the light flooding in through ancient windows and doors.  Who could improve on that?  Not me.

If you could use this in your artwork please feel free to download.

Thank you for looking.

  4. It's a wonderful photo and the light is magical. I'm always enchanted by these old monuments as if they had printed in their walls a bit of the History of the people that once passed by them.

  10. So you're to blame for the broken windows, Ann, 'just a stone's throw from home!!'

  13. Lucky you to have something so beautiful so close to your home. Is there any connection with Kirkstall Lane that I always hear when the Ashes are being broadcast from your part of the world. (Bowling from the Kirkstall Lane end).
Thanks for your generosity in offering the picture to your fellow bloggers. I will be taking my copy, that's for sure.
