THE THREE MUSES

WASH DAY

This week at the Three Muses Bev has chosen WINDMILLS as our theme for inspiration and that made me think about how we are often nostalgic for the windmills of old but not so happy about the modern windmills or turbines.  Me, I like them.  I like their beauty and grace ... and I find them quite handy for drying my washing on wash day!!!

Thanks, Bev.

Hih - a great idea, indeed, Ann.
But how to hang smal laundry LOL?

Well, I must say, I'm happy that you've made an apology of the new windmills; may be you'll be the only one, I don't know. The idea of drying the washing is very funny and worthy of your imagination dear Ann. But the the most of the most is the elegance wherewith you've achieved your idea. I especially love the 'mise en abîme' (sorry, I didn't find the English words :) created by the frames in the frames in the frame... A fresh feeling jump from them! Bravo from my heart!

I like the tiny traditional windmill on the left...a nod to days gone by. As for the turbines, there are acres and acres of them not far north of here where the prairie winds are ceaseless. I'm reminded of the residents of Kennebunkport who resisted placing a wind farm several miles out to sea, stating it would "spoil their view". There's much controversy about the things. On a lighter note, I want to stop by and watch you hang out your laundry!

Excellent process of contrast here. It seems we see so many turbines but not realizing they are taking the place of our from-the-past structures. Well done!!
